"Safety and sustainability at Changi Airport
The new state-of-the-art terminal 4 at Changi Airport will play an integral role in maintaining Singapore's position as a global air hub. Sustainability was an important consideration in the build, with the airport committed to continually improving its performance through energy efficiency and proactive management of water and waste. ROCKWOOL products used in the building, for example in the roof and ceilings, were selected for their energy saving and fire safety credentials as well as for the thermal and acoustic comfort they provide to the 16 million passengers a year expected to pass through the new terminal. A cinematic sound experience
Acoustics are of utmost importance for a great cinematic experience, so when a new 16-screen cinema was built in the 1.3 million square feet Paradigm Mall, the architect required excellent acoustic performance from the cinema partitions, plus good thermal insulation for the roof. An enduring symbol of Denmark
Built between 1750 and 1760, Amalienborg is the home of the Danish Royal Family and an important part of the country's cultural heritage. This palace underwent a thorough exterior and interior renovation to create a home that is safe and sustainable to live in, while at the same time assuring the future of this historic building. The baroque splendour of Russia's State Hermitage houses millions of artworks, including the world's largest collection of paintings. Any refurbishment of such a priceless cultural monument needs to be carried out with great care and in a way that respects the building's age and complexity. The Hexagone Balard, the new Paris HQ for the French military, was designed to accommodate over 9,000 personnel. Safety and security are integrated into the design of this massive, high-tech structure, which acts as the command-and-control centre for France's army, navy and air force. The 28-storey Bolueta Tower is the tallest ‘passivhaus’ building in the world at 88 metres. It received the prestigious Passivhaus Certified award in 2018 and is the first Vivienda de Protección Oficial (VPO) building in Spain.
